A Study on the Determinants of the Firm`s Performance in the Daegu-GyeongBuk Oriental Bio Industry

Abstract
Tried to figure out the determinants of the firm`s performance in oriental bio industry based on basic management resources, core competencies, and entrepreneurship. Conducted a survey to the 150 herbal foods, medical devices, pharmaceutical companies, herbal biotechnology company in Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. Firm size such as number of employees and capital is a key decision factor for the financial performance. Production capacity is the most important factor for the competitive advantage. Due to the nature of Oriental Bio Industry, the entrepreneurial spirit is still showing the limits of the determinants of performance. Basic business resources such as firm size was the key determinants in financial performance and production capacity turned out to be the key determinants for the competitive advantage. In the future study, a new study approach for the dynamic capability such as learning ability and resource allocation capability is needed.
